A Case Report of Cardiopulmonary Arrest after Use of Xylocaine (r) spray Solution

Abstract

|
A 29 year old male patient had visited local otorhinolaryngology clinic for resection of this nasal polyp. Local analgesia on nose was made with a few spray of 10% Xylocaine(r) spray solution through nostril. About 5 minutes later, he sufferred
from
respiratory difficulty, hypoxemia and circulatory shock. As soon as shock occured, he was transferred to our hospital. He was resuscitated in emergency room and aggressive treatment was done in intensive care unit, but his general condition was
not
improved. Finally, he expired on the next day.
